Shetland Sheepdogs or
Shelties are strange little
dogs that were originally bred in
Scotland to herd
moose. They look similar to small
collies, but their proportions are different.
Their characteristics include a habit of running around in circles and bonking into things. They are usually VERY energetic dogs, possibly even hyper or clinically insane. If you ever try to run with a sheltie, it will cut across your path, nip at your heels and turn you left and right without rhyme or reason. I blame it on their deep-set shepherding instincts. On the plus side, they are very loving and loyal, great with children, and mostly harmless to other organisms up to and including baby rabbits. They might be a discipline problem due to their genetic ADD and goofiness.
