A ceremony for worshipping the Deity (arca-vigraha) form of the Lord, with offerings of food, lamps, fans, flowers and incense.

N.B. this is one of the few times a Hindi word is used in preference of the sanskrit nomenclature... it is most probably due to the prevalence of the term arati...
