What I think is intriguing about the word
extrovert is that it is the only word in the
English language that uses the prefix
extro.
Even more intriguing is the fact that Carl Jung, who coined the term, spelled the term with an A. But still, in modern dictionaries it is spelled with an O.
Is this a mistake that has been made by modern linguists? For what reason would they change the spelling of a word to a use a prefix that is used in no other word? Is this a conspiracy?
Well, I suppose it is, likely, no conspiracy, however, I shall always assume its correct spelling to be extravert with an A.
