Eberhard Weber is an inspirational bassist influenced by Miles Davis and
Steve Reich who started recording in the Seventies and is still going, having released a record this year.
His Dad started him on the 'cello at six, but he gave this up at 16 to concentrate on the acoustic and electric bass. In the early seventies he added a fifth string to his bass to give it a deeper and richer sound, and about five years later he gave it yet another (this six string bass has now been adopted by the heavy band lead singer and bassist of Primus). His two finest albums are Colours of Chloe and Fluid Rustle, he has recorded with the saxophonist Jan Garbarek ( Officium ).
