Some
censors seem to have more of a
bug up their ass about
blasphemy than about
violence, verbal or physical.
Atlanta-based TV station TBS is especially uneven in this respect. They'll show someone being shot to death in a movie, but they'll dub a euphemism over the word "goddamn."
Radio stations routinely bleep references to marijuana, but retain lyrics about drive-by shootings, drunk driving, and all kinds of disrespect.
I don't know what kind of censor would worry about mild profanity and not be concerned with mass murder. One of these days I expect to be watching a movie on TV and hear the phrase "Die, you gosh-darned motherfucker!" followed by a hail of bullets.
