Bing is a common English onomatopoeia for a small ringing noise, especially a brief one used as a chime; it is a synonym for ding, which is generally more commonly used. Bing has the benefit that it alliterates with bong, allowing a two-tone chime to be described or mimicked as bing-bong or a drum lick as bada-bing; the former is commonly used as a polite attention-getting sound used for PA systems, while the latter was originally a reference to the drummers underscoring a joke in American stage shows.

Alternatively, bing may refer to a Bing Cherry, a cherry cultivar developed by horticulturalist Ah Bing, or Bing.com, a large but not oft used search engine run by Microsoft.
