The largest sports event in the world, watched by more people than the Olympics, the football (soccer) World Cup finals are held every 4 years. Teams compete in continental groups for up to two years prior to the finals in an attempt to qualify, as only 32 teams will be in the finals (8 groups of 4). An interesting bit of trivia is that since the World Cup began in 1930, only eight countries have ever won the final.
