One of the best
Saab car models ever. Produced between the years 1967 and 1980 (IIRC). In the 70s Saab introduced a
turbocharged engine, which gives more
HP and
torque while still being
fuel-efficient. The
sports model was called 99
EMS, and featured better trim, shorter
steering rack, stiffer
suspension, tinted
windows and
fuel injection.
In 1979 Saab introduced a new model, called the 900, which was basically a hatchback 99 with a new nose. Another model, the 90, was also sold in Europe, which was basically a sedan 99 with the tail of a 900.
You can still see these cars every now and then, especially in Europe. I used to own a couple. They were fun cars.
